NSS Announces First Symposium on Space Venture Finance

Society announces Commercial Space Investment Symposium in
conjunction with its May 2007 International Space Development
Conference
WASHINGTON, DC. The National Space Society announced today its first
Symposium on Space Venture Finance, to be held in Dallas on Thursday,
May 24 in conjunction with the 26th annual International Space
Development Conference (ISDC 2007). This full day Symposium will
gather together leaders in the investment and space communities to
discuss recent innovations and deals in early- and mid-stage finance
within the commercial space, spaceport, satellite and space-related
information technology industries.
The day long symposium program will focus on the following current
topics of interest:
„X Pre-operational finance methods in aerospace, including debt-equity
financing deals
„X Private venture capital financing of entrepreneurial commercial
space firms,
„X State venture equity fund investment in space companies and space-
related infrastructure such as spaceports
„X Angel financing of commercial space ventures
„X Private equity in satellite, telecommunications and space-related
information technology industries
„X Current investment opportunities in entrepreneurial space companies
in the US, Canada and elsewhere
Members of the investment banking, venture capital, private equity,
angel financing and state venture equity investment communities will
give presentations concerning new entrants, practices and emerging
trends in the space finance sector.
