Having problems with message search?
i am interested as well but I was asking the group for help as well.
My question was concerning Lot's wife being turned into a pillar of salt. It seemed to me that salt was a very very valuable commodity back then.
It was traded (like currency) and used to pay wages (this is where the word salary was derived).
It was used to preserve food (like fish) for long periods of time. The body also needs salt to perform correctly.
Why would God turn her from a burden into something of great value after disobeying Him? Was He sacrificing her to allow Lot and his daughters to stay alive in the desert? Were her remains (the pillar) used to help keep Lot and his daughters alive while running away from the destruction? A pillar of salt would be a solid structure (in its mined form it is like rock), so they could pick her up and take her with them.
if you decide to address any of these ideas, i would love to read your thesis.
