Do you consider "Compaq" a non-name
brand,<br><br>all parts are compaqified<br><br>I have a presario
4160 in the office and CANNOT upgrade it as the bios
limits it to 166 (the current speed) I can upgrade ANY
other computer to 333mhz k6-2 w/ 3d now for about $150,
but NOT COMPAQ.<br><br>ALSO, I had 3 desqpro XL560,
and compaq wanted $1500 for the upgrade, while the
intel was abit less than $200. Also the clips on the
ram where PLASTIC (now all pc's use plastic clips) so
since the pentium and ram are on a processor board,
raised from the mainboard, if you grab the ram while
pulling it out, you break off the plastic clips, and you
will be hard pressed to get a new
board.<br><br><br>Also, I think you mentioned the proprietary hardware.
