I have been having problems with my HP Pavilion ze4300 laptop. A few
days ago when I tried to boot it up, I got a black screen saying that
I had registry errors. I couldn't get it to boot up Windows so I
reinstalled Windows XP
but I was still having problems. I tried reinstalling again hoping
that would solve my problem and then I was able to get Windows to
start up. I worked well for a couple of days and then today after
updating my antivirus program, it shut down and then restarted and I
got another black screen with the following message:
The following file is missing or corrupted HIMEM.SYS There is an error
in your CONFIG.SYS file on line 21
The following file is missing or corrupted RAMDRIVE.SYS There is an
error in your CONFIG.SYS file on line 31
Warning: the high memory area (HMA) is not available. Additional low
memory (below 640K) will be used instead.
The following file is missing or corrupted: COMMAND.COM
Type the name of the Command Interpreter (e.g., C:
\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM)
and then it shows the A prompt
Can someone tell me how to correct these problems since reinstalling
Windows XP doesn't help?
