but my head hurts and im to tired so till then Hugs
and smiles bounce. EVE

i wish i knew what this dream means

The territory the mind is in has nothing
specifically to do with lucid dreaming. It can only be used in
that manner if you can maintain a state of
semi-consciousness/semi-focus. It a sense of balance, because if you are too
focused, than you aren't going to get these loud rings,
brief dreams, etc. You have to balance the conscious
with the unconscious and then just "be", in a
way.

There's a program called brainwave generator which
induces it.
This is your subsconscious. The barrier between
the subsconscious and the conscious lessens as you
fall asleep, and the two are able to communicate more
openly. The brain state most commonly associated with
these type of things is the theta brain state. Everyone
gets it to some extent. If they say they don't than
they are not paying attention.

I've had as much
as up to 5 second dreams as I let my body drift off
and kept my mind awake that I just sat there and
watched. I even 'yelled' out a question once (to the
dream) and one of the people in it (who I had never seen
in the waking world) turned around and answered
it.

I additionally get the usual family members calling
out my name, doorbell/phone ringing, 2-second falling
down the stairs nightmare, etc. All while
semi-conscious and not deep into the dream world. These are not
uncommon things, infact they should happen every night to
a more or less extent.

As long as it doesn't
last into the day I think you are good to go!
I have had the same experience, both when I am in
that state between sleep and awake and when I'm very
relaxed and concentrated in meditation. Some
"authorities" have told me it is just your subconcious mind
alerting you that you are too close to a "barrier" between
the concious and subconcious, others have told me
that it is the last barrier to cross prior to be able
to do lucid dreaming. It is very anoying and scary
as the voice is very loud (I hear my name being
called, only once I've heard a ring). I simpathize with
the problem, and assure you you are not alone.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to pass that barrier, either.
Any suggestions are welcome.
I have a question and hope someone can answer
it!

When I fall asleep, I hear my phone ring. However, I
will wake up and see no one had called. This happens
most of the time while I sleep. And each time I
continue to think someone is calling me! It always happens
when I'm in a half-asleep state, but my mind is in a
semi-dream. It's hard to explain. I mean, it's like I'm
dreaming, but I am not completely asleep.

I also
hear voices in this state. I can't make them out. It's
about the same time the phone "rings". Most of the time
it's one ring, and the voice comes just before the
ring. How can it just be a dream, the ring is there, it
wakes me up! And the voice too!

Then, today, I
was in this same state of sleep, when I heard the
doorbell ring. It was very loud, our doorbell is quite
loud. I immediately sat up and went to answer the door
- but no one was there. Well, my mother was in the
house at the same time, so I asked her who was at the
door. She told me the doorbell did not ring, she would
have heard it much better than me, considering she was
near the door.

Is this all in my head??? It
only happens when I'm "dreaming".

I hope
someone can help.
--Tracie
Hi Quim!
Tracy here...
The Hypnogogic
state is easy for me...
Just close your eyes and
rest peacefully,
Pay little attention to any
thoughts... but don't
fight them... just let them float in
and on down the stream... Peer into the darkness and
let whatever images arise do so... don't analyse
them
just let them come and go... Happy journeys!
Hi, my friends...someone has experience exploring
the hypnogogic territories?. I always fall sleep when
i try to pay attention on it...the tip is to pay
attention in another think, and let the hypnogogic FX
pass?. Love & Light to all.
While I don't,(IMHO)believe that would be the ONLY or necessary continumn, I do
believe that Lucid Dreaming would be an excellent Doorway into the realm of
OBE's.
Okay folks, just a new topic to get the ball
rolling. Where do you think the line between lucid
dreaming and OBE's is (Out of body experiences)? Are OBE's
just the next stage of Lucid dreaming? Comments?
Hello! Funky stuff, eh? hehehe

I practice
lucid dreaming techniques and I write down most of my
dreams. One method that really works for me is 2 or 3
times each day I stop and think, "what would it be like
if I were dreaming?" I think about what I would
smell, taste, feel, do, etc as vividly as I could. Then
I go about doing whatever I was.

Last night
when I was dreaming I was in a large field. I looked
down and saw I was wearing my khakis. The button is
fixxed! (A couple days ago in real life the button came
off and I tried sewing it on again) I'm running
towards 3 people, and there's a narrator saying
something.

Well that's all for me today :D I'm gonna
go find some Joe Satriani mp3s. Peace!
hi i have been a conscious dreame for a very long
time i dont have to try really i just go to sleep
thinking about some thing could happen in my dream and i
will start my dream and be able to control it i like
these dreams i also have dreams about every night if i
dont rember them i didnt get much sleep in most of my
dreams where i can control them i try to fight waking up
whitch is odd cause you brain tells you to wake up and i
thought that in a dream world your brain is controling it
but maybe not or it is a part of the brain that is
only active asleep or something unexplaned
I guess I shouldn't really be posting here, I
don't know what to say....I'm new here and I don't
meditate or do any funky stuff, but I have an interest in
lucid dreaming and I'm trying to achieve it right now
(I've also tried loads of times before).

Most
of my dreams are of a nature I find strange to me as
I would guess they are different from the dreams of
perhaps 90%+ of people. More than anything, every dream
seems to be very unique and completely abstract as to
it's meaning. It's quite uncommon for me to dream of
the same thing unless it's been years or months since
I had a similar dream.
I meditate...but not as much as I used to. I keep
saying I'll go back to it. It is a great way to get
about 5 hours of sleep in 20 minutes.

To empty
your mind, I would sit quietly for a while before I'd
even begin my mantra. Listen to the rhythm of your
breathing.....slowly begin your focus / mantra. I used to keep it even
with my breaths. It would work better that way. I used
to have trouble focusing too...but the more you
'twitch" and stuff, the more stress you're throwing off.
So, just go with it. Be sure there aren't any phones,
animals around. They'll ruin it every time...Just
concentrate fully on your breath....in....out......let your
whole being be part of each breath. As you release each
breath..imagine stress leaving you and your focus getting
better.
You'll get better as time goes on. I think I'll try it
again..god knows I've got enought stress to throw
off.
From Scibunny
any one care to give me a few pointers on
meditation? I cant empty my mind no matter what, because of
the lights behing my eyes, wierd orange yellow and
black patterns are too ... confusing. So much so that I
HAVE to open my eyes.
Hi, my friends. This last days iŽll be very busy
in my work, and i have no time to put new messages
in the club. In a few days, i put interesting
information about Lucid Dreams & Meditation, a good way to
adcquire lucidity in dreams. See ya soon!!.
So, why don't we start talking about our dreams?
Have any of you actually been able to control your
dreams? I was in a boarding school a couple years ago,
and when I missed people/things/home, about an hour
before I knew I'd be in bed, I would deeply concentrate
on it for a good while, then go about my routine,
relax, and go to sleep without thinking about it
much....and it actually worked!!! Any experiences?
Hey, I'm a new member. Looks like you have a good thing started! Great
topic...I'm looking forward to sharing ideas with you guys....Thank you for the
invite.
