Nice fix but how do you open the battery door now?

Hello,

As expected, the battery cover latches in my two C990s passed away some time
ago. I was
using a piece of alum. cut to size and screwed to the tripod socket, as usual,
to hold the
cover in position. Useful, but not perfect, as I still needed some way to fix
the camera to my
tripod. So, I removed the metal plate and attached a Manfrotto plate to the
tripod socket.
Now I have the door securely locked in place, I can mount the camera on the
tripod and, as a
bonus, I finally found a convenient place to tie the lens cover cord.
