XP Denver's October meeting is this coming Monday, October 27th at the Qwest
Auditorium in Downtown Denver. Doors open early at 6:00pm for networking and
refreshments. Curtis Cooley will be in Denver and will be our guest speaker
this month. As always, our meetings are free to attend and open to the
public.
Curtis is a software engineer with RADSoft, a team of experienced eXtreme
Programmers with a solid track record of successful projects and supporting
the growing XP community. Headquartered in the beautiful Pacific Northwest,
RADSoft offers software outsourcing, on-site development/consulting and
training to clients around the world. With nearly four years of hands on
Extreme Programming experience and as a valued contributor on the main XP
mailing list, Curtis frequently takes on the role of XP Consultant and Coach
for consulting jobs.
Curtis will talk about his experiences with eXtreme Programming and other
agile methods at RADSoft and at client sites. He especially enjoys the
challenges of playing the role of "XP seed" at companies wanting to try XP.
Initially that may simply be to sit down day-to-day with the client's team
and teach them how to do XP by example. Writing test first code,
refactoring, pair programing, and doing all the things the client companies
might have had doubts about. As the client's confidence grows, Curtis can
take on a more formal role as XP Coach or move on to another assignment.
AGENDA:
6:00 - 6:40 PM Networking and refreshments
6:40 - 6:45 PM Announcements and door prize giveaways
6:45 - 7:45 PM Curtis Cooley's presentation

at 1005 17th Street. At street level, to the right of the escalators, are

are locked, go to the main building lobby which is on Level 1 if you walk
straight from the escalator landing.
