Grady Booch will speak at XP Denver this coming Monday, January 26th. The
auditorium doors will open at 6:00 PM, with the presentation starting around
6:30 PM. As always, our monthly meetings are free to attend and open to the
local technology community. Grady last visited us in September of 2002, and
we look forward to his current perspective on software development in 2004.

One of the original developers of the Unified Modeling Language (UML), Grady
Booch is recognized internationally for his innovative work on software
architecture, modeling, and software engineering processes. A renowned
visionary, he has devoted his life's work to improving the effectiveness of
software developers worldwide. Grady served as Chief Scientist of Rational
Software Corporation from 1980-2003, and continues to serve as principal
architect and mentor of software development solutions within IBM Software
Group.

One of the co-creators of IBM Rational Rose® and other products, Grady has
served as architect and architectural mentor for numerous complex software
systems around the world. Author of 13 highly informative technology-based
books, Grady is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM),
the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the American
Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and Computer
Professionals for Social Responsibility (CPSR). He is also an ACM Fellow, a
Rational Fellow, and an IBM Fellow. Grady received his BS in engineering
from the United States Air Force Academy in 1977 and his MSEE from the
