Primary Responsibilities:
* develop application and test code for an embedded Linux environment
* development to include Linux kernel modification/recompilation and device
driver work
* integrate and test third party hardware on development platform
* code application software as needed (C)
* development to include socket programming, Inter Process Communications
(IPC), and system logging
* work in an embedded Linux environment
* document and brief development team on work in progress/completed
* interact with vendors and/or customers
Experience/Skill Set/Knowledge:
* US Citizenship and background amenable to security clearance is a
requirement.
* 7+ years experience C programming

Development Test Engineer -Colorado Springs (Job Code KCDR5) Will relocate
for this position
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this individual will define
testing requirements and necessary equipment for software & hardware test,
as well as implement designs.
Responsibilities
· Primarily responsible for designing test fixtures and suites for
products and incremental development cycle.
· Design test fixtures, develop test procedures and perform varied and
complex assignments of the test engineering functions.
· Designs and develops software test.
· Designs and develops hardware test using developed software tools
and input from hardware engineer as needed.
· Evaluates test equipment required to perform quality checks.
· Prepares recommendations for testing and documentation of procedures
to be used from product design phase through prototype development and
production.
· Develop and implement system to track engineering bug/problems.
·
Skill Set
· Requires Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (or related field) and
5+ years of related experience. Substantial experience can be considered in
place of degree.
· Total of 5+ years programming/scripting
· Programming in "C"
· Programming in "C++"
· 2+ year experience with a UNIX or Linux environment
· Experience writing test plans to ensure function and reliability.
· Understanding of software architecture.
· Excellent Communication skills.
· Team oriented
· Able and willing to make things happen to achieve the end goals of
the engineering department.
· Candidate must have ability to troubleshoot, validate, verify
software scripts, test procedures and work with engineering team to resolve
hardware and software issues
· Experience working in an embedded environment (cross compiling and
downloading code, RTOS exp, etc.) is a strong plus
· Experience using lab equipment (ie oscilloscope, logic analyzer, bus
analyzers) strong plus
· Experience with CVS is a plus
· Familiarity with FPGAs an HDL is a plus.
