There are some good articles and discussions out there. Do a search on:
"fixed price" agile
at Google.
Fixed price works as long as it's clear that some level of scope is negotiable.
To obtain a contract like that, however, you have to sell earlier deliveries so
as to demonstrate ability to produce. Part of doing this involves selling early
and continual negotiation of scope.
I've yet to work on a project, waterfall, XP, or whatever, fixed scope or not,
where scope wasn't negotiated at the end of the project.
