On Monday, September 25th, Agile Denver will host guest speaker Jared
Richardson, co-author of Ship It! A Practical Guide to Successful
Software Projects. Please mark your calendars for this evening and
Jared's presentation "Agile Software Testing Strategies."
We often try to test the same way we write code. Someone throws a
problem at you and says "Do it!" This is not the most effective way to
get your work done.
We are going to look at a testing strategies that you can use
everyday. These practical strategies can help you obtain solid test
automation coverage for your product without devoting months of
engineering time.
This presentation will get you started whether you're starting a new
project or trying to clean up an existing one.
A free pass to RMSS 2006, an $825 value, will be raffled along with door
prizes including copies of Ship It and the NFJS 2006 Anthology. Be sure
to sign up for this drawing before the presentation begins.
The meeting will be held at the 200-seat Qwest auditorium in Downtown
Denver, so there will be plenty of space for bringing co-workers. As
always, there is no cost or pre-registration required to attend the
monthly meetings.

Agile expert Mike Clark writes about Ship It: "...What I love about this
book is that I can hand it to any developer or manager and know that the
advice is relevant to their project. It doesn't matter if they're
already using a formal process or they have no process at all. Without
the practices outlined in this book, every project is at risk of not
shipping on time to happy customers. And so it should come as no
surprise that I'll be highly recommending Ship It! to every project I
visit..."

DIRECTIONS
The Qwest auditorium is on Level A of the Qwest building on the corner
of 17th and Curtis. The street address is 1005 17th Street. Take the
exterior escalators facing 17th from street level to Level 1. You can
then access the elevators via doors to the right of the escalator
landing. Those doors may be locked after business hours.
If these doors are locked, proceed to the main building lobby which is
on Level 1. From the lobby, you can take a walkway over to the
auditorium. There will be someone on hand to direct you from the lobby.
In addition to street parking, there is an outside parking lot
on the East side of the Qwest building that costs around $6 after 4pm.
Several other lots are within a few blocks. Covered parking can be
found across the street under Independence Plaza (the Rock Bottom
Brewery) and in the Tabor Center for around $5.
