I'm ringing birds in a wetland in the north-center of Spain. During this year I've trapped two aquatic warbler (Acrocephalus paludicola) with metal rings from Poland and colour rings. I'm very interesting in contact with the responsaible of this project.

Version française ci-dessous - Nederlandstalige versie hieronder
Sorry for this cross-posting in three languages
Dear Med Gull friends,
Here follows a small report of the Mediterranean Gull colour ringing season in Greece, Turkey and Ukraine (black rings).
The following numbers have been colour ringed :
- Ukraine : 566 chicks, 91 breeding birds
- Turkey : 77 chicks
- Greece : 148 chicks
Possibly, some more birds have been ringed in the Azov Sea.
All birds are wearing a metal ring and a black colour ring with a code consisting of three alphanumerical symbols. This year, the combination 'letter-cipher-letter' has been used too.
Including the year 2000 season, a total amount of 3145 black rings has been placed (UKR : 2245; TU : 488; GR : 412).
For all birdwatchers active on the Mediterranean coast (especially Turkey, Greece, Italy, Spain, France Morocco and Tunesia), may I ask you to keep a very sharp lookout on colour ringed Med Gulls. If you find big Med Gull concentrations somewhere, or even if you see colour ringed birds which could not be read, please report it. Very very few sightings come from the Mediterranean coast, except from the north of Italy. Keep it mind if you live there, or if you're on holiday there!
As all of you probably know, additional info on the various programmes of Med Gulls can be found on :
You will receive the complete life history of your bird(s).
I really hope to be in contact with you very soon!
All the best,
Renaud

kindly.
Although the cr-Ruff is not solved yet , new information for the European

We used color rings in red, yellow, light blue and black for Ruffs, but six
rings per bird (five color, one metallring). So I think there is just less a
chance to get the right bird. But I first have to take a look at our
ringinglists to check it.

on the cr-mystery page,
you can find the following cr-observations,
which came in from The Netherlands in June 2000.
>>
left: orange/metal , right: white/red
left: white/green , right: red/metal
left: brown/yellow , right: green/metal
>>
from these + the new Hungarian observation we can deduce that somewhere somebody
is c-ringing Ruff , without mentioning (for the time being) his c-project to the
European colour-ring website.
Too bad for the projectleader, these "lost" resightings.

Dear friends,
Time -as a moderator- to point out some "rules of the cr-birding newsgroup"'.
This newsgroup was started up to communicate about cr-birds and NOT to ask
where-which cr-bird you saw comes from.
For this purpose the European colour-ring Birding website exists.
A small effort from your side [-to find your own cr-observation-] is requested.
Advice, after taking a look at the EcrB-website, can be asked to me directly or
eventually over the cr-birding newsgroup.
Please do not overuse others people mailbox [other members of the group may not
be interested in your request to me private].
So please let all of us, make from this newsgroup something interesting for
everybody.
thanks,

My opinion is that the bird could be a French one [ see project below] and that
the one ring was in fact three rings very close to each other.

Oops, sorry - think I mixed something.
The question is about ringed Barnacle Geese (Branta leucopsis)
near Cuxhaven, Germany, 08.04.00, seen together with Joern
Wildberger. I couldn't find appropriate information about the
project(s).

Messages -> accès aux messages
à côté de "Welcome to Dirk.Raes@...", cliques sur "My profile"
