Description
This is the group page of The Connecticut Valley Mycological Society. This is not a website, it's a discussion group. CVMS has been an active community of mushroom hunters and amateur mycologists for more than 30 years. This group is designed to give CVMS members and anyone else a place to share photos, recipes, stories and mushroom-related discussions. Messages and links are available for the general public to view. All other features are for group members only.
We encourage discussion of anything to do with mushrooms and fungi except illegal fungal substances and their distribution. We do not allow adult content, flaming, advertising or other commercial posts. Use common sense and learn about wild mushrooms from southern New England's most active mushroom club.
If you would like to join CVMS an application can be downloaded from the files section of this group. If you'd like to join this group, click on join this group, set up your free yahoo account, and we'll email you with your confirmation. Messages can even be sent to your existing email account.
CVMS is a non-profit organization of recreational mushroom hunters open to anyone with a sincere interest in collecting wild mushrooms and the study of fungi.
If you do not want to join this group but you DO want to join CVMS or if you have a question for CVMS contact Linda at mushroomlinda@yahoo.com or Bill at boletebill@yahoo.com. Many questions about CVMS club business, foray schedule policy, rules and general practices can be answered by going to the files section and reading the "CVMS FAQ" paper.
If anyone in Connecticut believes they have been poisoned from eating wild mushrooms they should call UCONN's Poison Control Center at this emergency number: 1-800-222-1222.
For educational material about mushroom poisoning call this number at the PCC: 1-860-679-4422.
Thanks, be safe, have fun and enter the world of amateur mycology.
