Re: [Announcement] CyTV Development

Hi again,

a new alpha version of CyTV is now available here:
http://www.lucid-cake.net/cytv/cytv_0_7_alpha_4.dmg

Changes in this version:

- Bugfix for the EyeTV plugin on Intel Macs. Using an Intel Mac as the
server for live TV should now work.

- EyeTV channel control in the GUI.

- Deinterlace control in the GUI.

- A bug has been fixed that caused the inital port (when CyTV has
never been started before) to be random instead of 8001.

Known problems:

- If the current channel is changed in EyeTV directly, the live stream
can freeze. In this case, simply click on the "Play" link of the live
stream again. This is a VLC issue and cannot be fixed reliably in CyTV.

- Switching deinterlacing on and off can cause the VLC plugin (and
with it the whole browser) to crash. This is a VLC issue with no
workaround that I know of.

- When changing the deinterlacing option, playback should continue at
the same position. However, sometimes the stream plays back from the
beginning. This will likely be fixed in the next CyTV alpha.

Next up:

- Transcoding support.

If you have a specific feature request or problem, don't hesitate to
bring it up. While I can't promise anything, I'll try prioritize these
things.

Regards,

Andreas
