I have a curious problem that's driving me insane. A couple of weeks ago my BT
Hub router froze, and I had to do a factory reset. OK serves me right for
having such a pile of poo in the first place but since then I haven't been able
to get CyTV to work properly. I can connect to Bonjour, see all the recordings
but play nothing. All I get is the dreaded "No Video". What makes it really
curious is that if I change channels on the client, in this case my Macbook, it
changes on the server (G5). I've tried uninstalling and re-installing
everything I can think of: CyTV itself; Safari; VLC plug-in. I've tried every
possible setting, done port forwarding on the router, checked that it's allowed
in the System Prefs Firewall. My gut feeling is that it's the router, which is
particularly clumsy and convoluted to configure, as anyone else unfortunate to
have one would, I feel certain, agree, and the sooner the BT contract runs out,
the better.

The thing that really confuses me is that I can change channels on the server.
Surely if it was a network issue then that wouldn't happen. My only other guess
is that it's something to do with Safari 4, but that's on both machines.

I'm perfectly prepared to believe that I've overlooked something blindingly
obvious, but no idea what, so any help or suggestions would be very gratefully
received.

Steve

... Ok think I have got to the bottom of this. It seems to be the new Safari 4. I had to do a clean install on the laptop, using an older version of Leopard,...
