Dahlia-alert is a news group and information source for people with an interest in growing and enjoying spectacular dahlias. It is purposely low in volume (less than 30 emails per year), and very focused on providing dahlia information you can use at the time you can use it.

From November through February we concentrate on providing information about North American mail-order dahlia suppliers and their offerings. Spectacular dahlias are hard to find. The supplier information we provide can help you locate the named varieties you may be looking for.

From March to June we share information about North American dahlia society plant and tuber sales. These sales are both an opportunity to acquire named varieties at a reasonable cost, and a place to meet and talk with experienced dahlia growers.

July into October is the dahlia show season and we do weekly mailings of date, time and location information for dahlia shows across North America. Dahlia shows are the "Greatest Flower Shows on Earth" and we want to make it as easy as possible for you to enjoy a show near you or on your travels.

Throughout the year we also try to do a few mailings which will point you to online information concerning seasonal dahlia care and growing topics. And, occasionally we send out something just because the editor thinks it would be interesting to the members of this group.
