Class Always Shows

A doctor had his TV on in his office when the news of the military base shootings at Ft. Hood , TX came on. The husband of one of his employees was stationed there.

He called her into his office and as he told her what had happened, she got a text message from her husband saying, "I am okay." Her cell phone rang right after she read the message. It was an ER nurse,” I’m the one who just sent you a text, not your husband.
I thought it would be comforting but I was mistaken in doing so. I am sorry to tell you this, but your husband has been shot 4 times and he is in surgery."

The soldier's wife left Southern Clinic in Dothan, AL and drove all night to Ft.Hood. When she arrived, she found out her husband was out of surgery and would be OK.  She rushed to his room and found that he already had two  visitors there to comfort him.

He was just waking up and found his wife and the visitors by his side. The nurse took this picture:

What? No news crews and cameras? This is how people with class respond and pay respect to those in uniform.
I sent my cousin in Fayetteville , N.C. (Retired from Special Forces) that picture of Geo. W. visiting the wounded at Ft. Hood . I got this reply:

What is even better is the fact George W. Bush heard about Fort Hood, got in his car without any escort, apparently they did not have time to react, and drove to Fort Hood. He was stopped at the gate and the guard could not believe who he had just stopped. Bush only asks for directions to the hospital then drove on. The gate guard called that "The President is on Fort Hood and driving to the hospital."

The base went bananas looking for Obama. When they found it was Bush, they immediately offered escort. Bush simply told them it was o.k. and to let him visit the wounded and the dependents of the dead.

He stayed at Fort Hood for over six hours, and was finally asked to leave by a message from the White House.

Obama flew in days later and held a "photo opportunity" session in a gym, and did not even go to the hospital.

All this I picked up from two soldiers here who happened to be at Fort Hood when it happened.
This Bush/Obama/Ft.Hood story is something that should be sent to every voter in the US . Those who wanted "change".  You certainly got it.

Someone, PLEASE, show me anything that will tell us that Obama has ANY respect for the country he leads! I'm looking for just a little sign of respect.

OK, first sorry for including DAC on my e mail click, but I was asking, "I am a VET, and if this is true...," to see what kind of response I would get, and yes I am a Retired VET, fact, and not out and out saying I believe this, but...

Interesting, I did a quick look and found this.

Now I think they should fire all of congress, and I do not want to get into politics here, but I hate anybody blowing smoke up my A**, when it comes to my Brothers In Arms.

Like I said, sorry for including the DAC, but I did send the response back the other way to the original sender, since KA has the facts, right! (?)

I'll be driving to an audio meet at Luther's house in San Antonion this
Saturday, and that caused me to think about the Dallas Audio Club. I was
wondering if there have been any DAC activities in the last year that
are open to outsiders. I used to enjoy driving to Dallas or Fort Worth
for the occasional meeting, but lately I haven't heard of anything.

Hi Fred,

The DAC has not really had any activity for a while. Not saying there is no
North TX activity, it is just not through the DAC. I have been quite busy the
past three years with my two boys, but they are finally getting to an age where
I can pick up my hobby again and start to do some more coordination, etc.

The biggest issue, historically, has been finding locations to host DAC
gatherings. My home is always open to DAC members, but it is small and could
only accomodate for 10-12 guests comfortably and that would still leave people
standing. There have been a few DAC members with much larger homes that have
been generous enough to host, but asking to use their facilities/homes
persistently is unfair totheir hospitality. I will, however, be finishing a
project that I think will attract some interest in a few weeks and I willl
either have a few people over or take them to a volunteers home for a meeting
along with some of my tube gear. The project is a large dipole that is fully
passive using AE IB15 drivers, Peerless 830883 midranges and the BG NEO3 in
dipole. I'll upload a few progress pics today for viewing.

This spring I plan to start an activity initiative to get this North TX
community going again. Stay tuned.

Thanks,

Blair

Hi, Blair, thanks for the response. I've received a few private messages about getting on the mailing list for any Houston activities. The Lone Star Bottleheads is no longer active, but the Houston Audio Society and the River City Audio Club in San Antonio have regular meetings. Anybody can join either club's Yahoo Group and receive meeting notices as email messages:

Hi Guys,

It's a crapshoot, but what the heck. I know some of you have old gear you
intended to build but never did anything with. I know I do! I found one of
these, but I am interested in building a pair. I do not care what kind of
condition the chassis is in. It was an ugly amp to begin with:)

Just a power tranny and pair of outputs on a rusty chassis would make me happy.

Hope all is well with everyone!

Thanks!

I'm looking for a pair of Tympanis, I, II, or other. My intent is to
add more bass panels with a separate power amp.

The tweeter sections don't need to work at all. Cosmetics are
irrelevant as I will recover them. I've even learned how to re-glue
the coils to the diaphragm.

So, If anyone has a pair of Tympanis that they would like to unload,
drop me a line or give me a call.

TIA for your patience and attention!

this stuff still, but I love listening to my hd650s, I've heard the 800s are
more bright and won't sound great for pop/bass heavy music... What do you guys
think about my choices ? Any critique or concerns? And is a computer with a high

Hello,

Thank you for welcoming me into the fold.  I am admittedly joined this group for
purely selfish reasons.  My interests have shifted from audio equipement to
other activities more family-centric.

As a result, I have a beautiful pair of Martin Logan Sequel II full range
loudspeakers for sale.  They are in excellent condition and fully operational.
If you have never experienced Martin Logan speakers for yourself, they are a
wonder.

Complete with factory boxes and user's guide, I am asking $1,000 cash for the
pair.

I am more than willing to help load these 100+ pound beasts and may be willing
to deliver depending on distance and time allowing.

Here is a link to Martin Logan's online information about these speakers:
https://www.martinlogan.com/products/sequelii

If interested, please contact me 817-491-7253.  Feel free to bring a CD of your
choice for a test run.  I only ask that you have cash in hand to listen.

Thank you,

Scott in Keller, TX
