Sorry for the slow response, everyone involved in drafting DAPL now
have other projects taking first priority. So we don’t’
jump on questions
as quickly as we might have a few years ago.
Anyway, you hit one of those assumptions that was so ingrained
in the
heritage of DAPL (VIPL and the various RDMA verb specifications)
that
we never bothered to state it. But basically for any and all
bit-defined
fields the answer is that any and all combinations are legal. If
the field
is an enum (only one value is allowed) that should be clear by
the
name or in context. If there are specific combinations that are
invalid
that should be explicit.

Subject: [dat-discussions] ORing of completion flags
hello,
Can we interpret through the u-DAPL specification , whether completion
flag values that are used at the time of posting can be ORed or not.
(i.e. can more than one flags be used simultaneously at the time of
posting)
for eg :
can dat_ep_post_send take both dat_completion_supress_flag and
dat_completion_unsignalled_flag in a single posting.
is some explicit indication found in the specification regarding the
above mentioned case.
Thanking You,
Regards,
Eva.
