Hello all,
An open source software tool for testing and debugging of user Direct
Access
Programming Library (uDAPL) has been released. The name of the tool is
TED: Test
Environment for DAPL.
TED_3.2 has been released and can be obtained from
http://sourceforge.net/projects/testdebugdapl/
TED is meant to assist the developers/testers of uDAPL for verification of
their
uDAPL, implementation as well as the underlying hardware i.e. Host Channel
Adapter (HCA). Most tools available do not provide a control at
Application
Programming Interface (API) level and provide limited flexibility
vis-a-vis the
choice of parameters for the APIs or the test cases that can be executed.
TED provides a command line interface to enable protocol level testing and
debugging of the library, device driver and HCA in an integrated manner
wherein a uDAPL API can be executed by typing a command at the shell
prompt. It provides a high level of flexibility and choice to the user.
The parameters of the APIs can be specified at the command line. The tool
supports scripting. This allows users to decide on a test pattern and
perform a set of uDAPL tasks using scripts. This tool has load test
commands that can be used to execute tests on single node or a cluster of
nodes. These tests carry out heavy data transfer through the network,
taking care of resource management, flow control and data integrity check
while the results and the errors get logged in files. This environment can
assist in debugging of problems encountered during application runs.
This is a generic tool and can be used over any implementation of uDAPL.
