Hello,
Will be little more elaborate.

Are you talikng about cluster public domain package?.

Rather are you talking about clustering in general?.
If it is about clustering, your question is little fundamental.
Clustering is aimed at finding the available structure in your data. Probably to
eliminate false groups with less number of samples, you may employ cluster size.
Are you talking about this?.

Hi,
The problem you consider like incremental clustering. But when you use a result
of cluster, and ever you have a new data, you want to assign to one exist
cluster?. I think in this case you must save some information status at this
previous step. And it depend on which clustering algorithm you use... Which
clustering algorithm do you use?

Date: Wed Dec 16, 2009 12:53 pm
Subject: visualizing the evolution of a weighted graph
sharios
Send Email Send Email

Dear all,

I am studying the evolution of a weighted graph over time. This case I
am studying is a special case of the general graph evolution: the
network structure is fixed (both the nodes and the edges do not
change) and only the weights change over time.

Is there any work on visualizing such evolution of graphs? One extreme
is to visualize some feature of the graph over time (e.g. average
strength). The other extreme is visualizing the whole graph, but then
it is almost impossible to visualize the time dimension.

I thought of using some form of projection, like multi-dimensional
scaling or PCA, which raises the question of how to compute the
distance between two graphs. Edit-distance seems to be an overkill,
given that only the weights of the graph change. On the other hand I
can treat the whole graph as a vector of weights (since the network
structure does not change) and use euclidean distance or cosine
distance, but then I am ignoring the network structure all together in

============================ CALL FOR PAPERS ============================

                11th International Conference on
             Electronic Commerce and Web Technologies
                            EC-Web 2010

               http://sisinflab.poliba.it/ecweb2010/

              		 University of Deusto
                      	    Bilbao, Spain
                      30 August - 3 September 2010

=========================================================================

EC-Web 2010

After the initial enthusiastic initiatives and investments and the
eventual bubble, Electronic Commerce has changed and evolved in a
well established and founded reality both from a technological point
of view and from a scientific one. Nevertheless, together with its
evolution, new challenges and topics have emerged as well as new
questions have raised related to many aspects of Electronic Commerce.

After the lesson learned during last years and following the successful
edition of EC-Web 2009, for its 11th edition EC-Web will try to provide
a clearer description of the Electronic Commerce universe focusing on
some relevant topics. The main focus is not only on Internet related
techniques and approaches. The aim of EC-Web 2010 is to cover also
aspects related to theoretical foundations of E-Commerce, Business
Processes as well as new approaches exploiting recently emerged
technologies and scenarios such as Semantic Web, Web services, SOA
architectures, mobile and ubiquitous computing, just to cite a few.
Due to their central role in any realistic e-commerce infrastructure
security and privacy issues are widely considered, without excluding
legal and regulatory aspects.

We encourage papers that present innovative solutions for classical
E-Commerce issues, such as e-negotiation, recommender systems,
secure payments, as well as for new emerging areas, such as
Computational and Search Advertising, Semantic Web, agent-based E-Commerce,
applied Web Services, applied soft computing, information retrieval and
information filtering techniques in web and/or e-commerce environments.

Although the conference seems naturally focused on computer science issues,
we welcome and encourage research contributions from economics, business
administration, law, sociology and other disciplines. In particular, papers
about web marketing and its non-technical aspects, as well as about social
aspects of e-commerce are encouraged. We also welcome papers reporting about

innovative applications and case studies in the field of E-Commerce and/or
Web
Applications, like, e.g., Electronic Voting and Sponsored web search.

In order to provide a better categorization and classification of its main
goals,
Ec-Web 2010 will be organized as a multi-track conference.
Each track will be organized as a mini-conference with corresponding
reference area
chairs. Even though the main focus of the conference concerns the
relationship
between E-commerce and emerging technologies, with strong attention toward
semantics aspects, contributions about theoretical issues as well as
cross-track
contributions are very welcome.

The topics of interest of the thematic tracks include, but are not limited
to:

Hi all,

which are appropriate values for Minimum confidence and minimum support values
for the Apriori algorithm? How could you tweak them? are they fixed values, or
they change during the running of the algorithm? If you have used this algorithm
before, which are the values you have set?

Thanks,
Lucian

PURPOSE / HISTORY:

DMIN'10 Conference is being held jointly (same location and dates)
with a number of other research conferences (WORLDCOMP).
WORLDCOMP is the largest annual gathering of researchers in computer
science, computer engineering and applied computing. We anticipate
to have 2,000 or more attendees from over 85 countries participating
at WORLDCOMP Congress. A number of individual research tracks of
the Congress have been held for many years; for example, PDPTA has
been held annually since 1995 (PDPTA'10 is the 16th annual
conference); ERSA has been held annually since 2001 (ERSA'10 is the
10th annual conference); ICAI has been held annually since 1999
(ICAI'10 is the 12th annual conference); DMIN has been held
    annually since 2003 (DMIN'10 is the 8th annual conference;
originally it was offered as part of IKE). Other tracks of
    WORLDCOMP Congress have similar records.

The motivation behind this federated congress is to assemble
a spectrum of affiliated research conferences into a coordinated
research meeting held in a common place at a common time. The
main goal is to provide a forum for exchange of ideas in a
number of research areas that interact. The model used to form
DMIN facilitates communication among researchers from all
over the world in different fields of computer science,
computer engineering, applied computing, information science,
and computational biology. Both inward research (core areas)
    and outward research (multi-disciplinary, inter-disciplinary,
and applications) will be covered during the conference.
DMIN makes concerted effort to reach out to participants
affiliated with diverse entities (such as: universities,
institutions, corporations, government agencies, and research
centers/labs) from all over the world.

DMIN'10 will be composed of research presentations, keynote
lectures, invited presentations, tutorials, panel discussions,
and poster presentations. In recent past, keynote/tutorial/panel
speakers have included (as part of the federated event):
Prof. David A. Patterson (pioneer/computer architecture, U. of
California, Berkeley), Dr. K. Eric Drexler (known as Father of
Nanotechnology), Prof. John H. Holland (known as Father of
Genetic Algorithms; U. of Michigan), Prof. Ian Foster (known as
Father of Grid Computing; U. of Chicago & ANL), Prof. Ruzena
Bajcsy (pioneer/VR, U. of California, Berkeley), Prof. Barry
Vercoe (Founding member of MIT Media Lab, MIT), Dr. Jim Gettys
(known as X-man, developer of X Window System, xhost; OLPC),
Prof. John Koza (known as Father of Genetic Programming,
Stanford U.), Prof. Brian D. Athey (NIH Program Director, U. of
Michigan), Prof. Viktor K. Prasanna (pioneer, U. of Southern
California), Dr. Jose L. Munoz (NSF Program Director and
Consultant), Prof. Jun Liu (Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard U.),
Anousheh Ansari (CEO, Prodea Systems & first female private
space explorer), and many other distinguished speakers.
Tutorial speakers for data mining oriented tutorials have included
Prof. Eamonn Keogh (U. of California,Riverside), Ashu M.G. Solo
(Principal of Maverick Technologies America Inc.), Mikhail Golovnya

The length of the Camera-Ready papers (if accepted) will be
limited to 7 (IEEE style) pages. Papers must not have been
previously published or currently submitted for publication
elsewhere. The first page of the draft paper should include:
title of the paper, name, affiliation, postal address, and
email address for each author. The first page should also
identify the name of the Contact Author and a maximum of 5
topical keywords that would best represent the content of
    the paper.

Full papers will be evaluated for originality, significance,
clarity, impact, and soundness. Each paper will be refereed
by at least two experts in the field who are independent of the
conference program committee. The referees' evaluations will
then be reviewed by one member of the program committee who
will recommend a decision to the chair of the track that
the paper has been submitted to. The chair will make the
final decision. Lastly, the final papers will be reviewed
by one member of the program committee.

All accepted papers will be published in the respective
conference proceedings (in both, printed book form as well as
online). The proceedings will be indexed in Inspec/IET/
The Institute for Engineering and Technology, DBLP/Computer
Science Bibliography, and others.) The printed proceedings
will be available for distribution on site at the conference.

The 2010 Time Series Forecasting Competition
               for Computationoal Intelligence

2010 IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (WCCI'10)
               July 18-23, 2010, Barcelona, Spain
  -------------------------------------------------------------------
=====================================================================

Join the 2010 Time Series Forecasting Competition for Computational Intelligence
at the
- 2010 IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (WCCI'10) which
includes the
- 2010 IEEE International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN'10))
   July 18-23, 2010, Barcelona, Spain

You are invited to participate in the NNCG competition on time series
forecasting with computational intelligence methods
(www.neural-forecasting-competition.com) and to
submit full papers that describe your submitted algorithm and its predictions
for publication at the 2010 IEEE WCCI conference (www.wcci2010.org), to be held
in Barcelona, Spain in July.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Submissions to the new 2010 NN GC1 competition
-------------------------------------------------------------------
The competition data consist of 6 small datasets on transportation data
(available at www.neural-forecasting-competition.com), each with 11 time series
of a different time series frequency of yearly, quarterly, monthly, weekly,
daily, and hourly data. A competitor must submit predictions on at least one of
the 6 datasets (reduced set of 11 series) to be eligible to participate.
Competitors are encouraged to submit predictions on multiple datasets, and
ideally all 6 datasets (a complete set of 66 series). Two of the 6 datasets are
already available online, the other 4 datasets will be released on Sunday
17.01.2010.

Submissions of the predictions for all datasets are due June 14, 2010;
submissions of full papers to be published in the IEEE proceedings of the 2010
WCCI conference must be received by January 31, 2010.

Please note that we have revised the competition format to better address some
issues raised by sponsors and co-organisers. All those participating in the
trial run of this competition in 2009, incl. the preliminary results on 2
datasets presented at the 2009 IJCNN session, are invited to submit predictions
and papers again.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
WCCI'10 Presentation & Publication on the new NN GC1 competition
-------------------------------------------------------------------
All those planning to submit predictions on at least one datasets, multiple
datasets or even all 6 of the datasets are invited to submit full papers
describing their algorithms, methodologies etc. for presentation at the 2010
IEEE International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IJCNN'10, see
www.ijcnn2009.com) conference, held together simultaneously at the 2010 IEEE
World Congress on Computational Intelligence (WCCI'10). All accepted papers will
be eligible for oral presentation at the conference and for publication in the
conference proceedings. Authors may submit multiple abstracts for presentation
(maximum one per competition, see below).

-------------------------------------------------------------------
WCCI'10 Presentations on past NN3 & NN5 competitions
-------------------------------------------------------------------
In addition we also invite participants from the past NN3 and NN4 competitions
to submit abstracts and present their earlier submissions at the IJCNN'10
special session. Our aim is to provide those that have participated in previous
competitions at the IJCNN'07 and WCCI'08 or ISF'07/08 and DMIN'07/08
conferences, and that were unable to attend before, with the opportunity to
present their original methodology and possible extensions and revisions since
then. We hope this will disseminate best practices on how to predict time series
data of different time frequencies to a wider audience, in particular due to its
relevance for the corresponding datasets with similar time series frequency in
the 1st NN GC1.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Paper Submission
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Please follow the paper guidelines of the IEEE IJCNN'10 conference located at
the official website at http://www.wcci2010.org/submission (to submit follow the
link at the bottom --> IJCNN submission). Papers should describe the algorithm
and methodology used to predict the time series . The title should indicate the
method used and contain the name of the competition (e.g. 'NN3', ‘NN5’ or 'NN
GC1' in the title). Papers will be peer-reviewed for relevance, originality,
significance, clarity and technical quality. The deadline for submission is
January 31st, 2010.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Special Session Presentations
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Presentations are restricted to NN3, NN5 and NN GC1 competition participants
that have either submitted predictions on the NN3 or NN5 datasets in the past,
or that will submit predictions for the NN GC1 by the deadline, and that have
submitted full papers for review. Presentations held in the past at other NN3,
NN5 or NN GC conference sessions (e.g. ISF'08 and DMIN'08) would allow you to
also present at IJCNN'10 if the corresponding paper has not been published
before (or is sufficiently extended in the experiments or method). In order to
present at the NN GC1 competition session and to have your paper published those
accepted must register for the conference.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Important Dates:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
31 January 2010: Paper submission due
15 March 2010: Notification of Acceptance
23 May 2010: WCCI'10 & IJCNN'10 Early registration deadline
