Don,

Sorry your hard drive crashed. I know how bad that it. Unfortunately, if the
calendar program data files were lost, the program will not be able to recover
the notes. They are all contained in the data files.

Brent.

Hi Brent,

First of all, I see that you were away for some time for military service. Thank
you for serving our country.

I just started to use the calendar for a local non-profit, Trout Unlimited.
Feedback from the board and members has been great. Thanks for writing this
program and making it available.

Unfortunately, a few days after I got the calendar up on our website my hard
drive crashed. No backup.

Is there a way to recover the calendar in the software, or do I have to reenter
all the notes?

Thanks,

Don Jiskra

You need to resave your calendar once a month to ensure the "current" link gets
updated. It's not automatic/magic -
more's the pity!!

I am setting up a calendar for 2008 and have put it on our club website -
and it works.
My questions is: I have the initial link to 'current.html' which points
to the current month's calendar (August). How does this work? I am
curious if next month that same link will then point to September? I
can't find anything that tells me how this happens?

Hi..I just came across HTML Calendar Generator software. When I
tried to run it, I got an "unknown software exception error 0x0eedfade
at location 0x7C812A5B" followed by "Runtime error 217 at 000080D4".
I'm running on WinXP with the latest service packs. Any assistance
you can give would be much appreciated.

Hi Phil
If you double click on date box on the calendar you will see any entries
for that day. (the display does not tell you if there are any entries)

Okay,

So in the actual program, previous information that was entered can't
be viewed unless I view it in notepad.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly, but here are the ways I can think of that
you can view the calendar data.

Start the program and open the date in which you are interested.
Write the html files and view the result in a browser.
Use Notepad or other file viewer and look at the calendar data file directly.
It's just a text file.

Brent.

I had the same problem - I got round it by editing the .cfg file with
a text editor adding the names of the header & footer files. When I
went back into 'additional html' they were there and accepted.

Hi Calendar Generator Users,

I am attempting to create a header and footer file to insert my
calendar within an existing piece of HTML.

I have followed the steps as advised in a previous group question of
creating 2 files and cutting above and below on the footer and
header respectively.

When I attempt to link these files and hit OK I get an
error 'Invalid filename.'

Anyone seen this before / Have any ideas what I am doing wrong / see
my example header / footer below?
Pete.

PS. This is a great little tool, just what I was looking for, good
work for keeping it free!

To fix issue #1 (mentioned in my last post), remove the quotes around
the color attribute of the font tag (and maybe quotes around all
other attributes within tags? I haven't checked).

So, whereas this note

<font color="ff0000">SAMPLE TEXT</font>

becomes this when you open HTML Calendar again,

<font color=
>SAMPLE TEXT</font>

the following note formats correctly as displaying in color.

<font color=ff0000>SAMPLE TEXT</font>

Hi, all.

I'm used to making calendars manually, i.e. raw html, table by table
and cell by cell, to get things looking the way I want them to look.
I really like the ease with which this program generates calendars.
Two bugs I've noticed, though:

1. When entering html into the note field for a particular day, it
sometimes gets cut off. When parsing through the message board, I
found that this bug appeared in an earlier versions as well. For
example, the following note:

<font face="verdana" color="ff0000">SAMPLE TEXT</font>

gets chopped up into two lines and the color info is lost when
writing and publishing, to this:

<font face="verdana" color=
>SAMPLE TEXT</font>

2. When inserting additional html before or after the calendar, some
of the calendar formatting, such as the background color, is lost.
(Clues: the html is another table with lowercase tags, and row and
cell tags are indented. Picky, picky, picky...) I haven't traced why
this is the case. I thought of using your software to create the
calendar and then go in and add my html manually, but I'd rather know
if there's a workaround.

Thanks,
Bobby

You might also want to make sure that you don't have to program configured to
start on Jan 2004. You can specify the start month in the configuration, but if
you do you'll occasionally have to change it to keep up with the passage of
time.

Brent.

You may have Jan 2004 in the Cache. Try CTRL F5 or failing that clear out your

I'm afraid the program does not have the capability built into it.

>>> <jeepcherokee@...> 11/24/2004 4:25:35 PM >>>

does anyone know how to make something reacure every monday or every 4th
monday???

I noticed this was done in one of the band practace scheduals samples on the
web. Basically I have an event that happens every 4th monday. I also have an
event that happens the first day of every month.

Is there away to do this without entering that date every time??

Thanks in advance

I thought I would post this because they damn near took away almost all my

Hello there. Thanks for the great software. I've been trying it out
lately. One thing that I've noticed is that, on individual month's
calendars, on the links to the months before and after, the links
point to, like "December.htm" instead of 12.htm.

I am trying to transfer a calendar to a new computer. No matter what
I have tried, the old data doesn't show.
Any hints on what to do?

This is great software. I am the web designer for a local community
center, and we were using yahoo calendar to publish our info. Yahoo
has now decided that unless our visitors our currently using yahoo
id's, they cannot view our calendar. Being a non-profit, we have
very little to no money to invest in a web calendar service or
software. Your software was an answer to all our tech prayers.
I only have two suggestions:
1. make it possible to have one-entry monthly recurring events.
2. control the overall height of the calendar so that it fills the
page.
Otherwise, hat's off to you sir, and, may the good lord bless you
and keep you.
