you were using one of my favorite buzz-words which usually you denigrate,
ie, "believe". Even though you won't acknowledge "believing" in "anything",
and I "know" you "think" that you only "know" things and don't "believe" in
"anything", at least here is an example of what you "don't believe in"? :-)

I misspelled his name in my recent post and perhaps that was the source of
confusion with the Searles you had in "mind".

I did a websearch under Searl and below are copied portions of a few of the
"hits" preceded by a post to you of January 28, 1999 on this matter which
you apparently overlooked or ignored? Or did you and the ISEP/ISSO team
check this out carefully?

Since Searl's work has been "out there" in semi-popular publications for
decades, I bet those nefarious black ops engineers (who don't exist of
course;-) are not ignorant of his work.

I think you will be interested in the first "hit" below as to where Searl
got his ideas on this. Same source as your and Joe Firmage's different "psi
experiences", but on different "channels"? :-)

Antigravity: The Dream Made Reality -- The Story Of John R.R. Searl

In 1946 a young boy of 14 built a device that lost its gravity and flew up
and hit the ceiling of the room where he assembled it. This was done by a
boy who at the age of 12 could neither read nor write. He was given this new
technology in the form of dreams which he received from the age of 4 1/2 to

John Searl and David Hamel

Both John Searl and David Hamel use permanent magnets that have been encased
by a metal jacket or similar metallic enclosure. Through very different and
unique techniques, both technologies create time varying magnetic fields by
either an arrangement of magnetic attraction or repulsion. Eddy currents
will form in metals that are near or surround the magnets in such a setup
and this can cause electrostatic charges to form. Electrostatic capacitive
effects can occur between moving and non-moving parts (metallic and
non-metallic). Both technologies then move these static charges in unique
ways:

Searl
The Levity Disc uses a nested arrangement of concentric rings (plates) and
runners (encased magnets) to create very high electrostatic potentials with
self-rotation being achieved at a certain threshold.

Hamel
Hamel's UFO motor uses a flow of air that moves between and around specially
designed "turbine capacitor plates" that will charge up in a similar manner
as Searl's device. This flow of air will eventually become a circulating
plasma. During a recent telephone conversation with Mr. Hamel, Mr. Hamel
admitted that the aluminum tubes used, with the permanent magnets inside, is
what creates different electrostatic potentials on the two oscillating UFO
wings!

He is giving another Seminar in London on 1st June 1996. He now defines the
Searl Effect as: based on magnetic fields that generate a continual motion
of magnetic rollers around magnetized rings producing electrical energy and,
under certain conditions, an inverse gravity effect that can be used for
propulsion. Other effects include negative ionisation of the surrounding
air.

Prof. Searl will be explaining the Law of the Squares, the principle which
produces the effect.

Reference your request for a short article on the reasons why I think one
specific Isotope of Neodymium may be responsible for the energy effect.

To recap briefly, the device uses a cylinder of Neodymium enclosed in bands
of Nylon, Iron and Aluminium. This unit generates 3 volts and 69 are used to
attain mains voltage, rotating around magnetised bands. This voltage
suggests that a pair of optically active electrons are involved, as 3 e.v.
lies in the visible spectrum. Optically active electrons tend to couple to
give a maximum total angular momentum. The probability density of the
electrons is concentrated near to the plane perpendicular to the orbital
angular momentum vector. A precise atomic orientation in the sample would
therefore couple the electron energies. Because of the Coulomb repulsion of
the electron pair they stay at diametrically opposite ends of their orbit.
There is a relationship between the lifetime of an excited state of an
electron and the width of the energy lines of the emitted spectrum, that is,
the range of emitted frequencies. The spectral lines are not sharp but are
broadened for many reasons. Firstly, the Zeeman effect, the splitting of
spectral lines due to external magnetic fields, secondly, the broadening of
spectral lines can be due to Doppler effects, frequency shifts resulting
from random thermal motions, thirdly due to variations resulting from the
Uncertainty Principle and lastly, and most importantly, due to the electric
quadrupole moment of the nucleus. This determines the extent to which the
charge distribution of the nucleus departs from spherical symmetry. This
moment is greatest for 60Nd143 (12.2% abundance) and one assumes this
isotope would be the most likely candiddate for an unusual effect. This
would involve the anomalous broadening of of the optical absorption band of
Neodymium, to such a degree that much more energy in the visual range would
be collected than by normal atoms. The absorption would be enhanced by
external magnetic fields and a rise in temperature.

Such is the basis of my theorising about the S.E.G. and with the other
messages could form the basis of an article.

The idea sounds wacky, but a British inventor is convinced he has found a
way to create free, unlimited power. KEITH MCDONALD while on a promotional
visit to Perth.

Imagine having free electricity for life and never having to put petrol in
your car. And all this at the same time as your health improves and you cut
down on pollution.

It is a dream British scientist Professor John Searl has been chasing for
years and, finally, he believes he is on the brink of it becoming a reality.

Next year he is confident the Germans will replace a nuclear power station
with his method of power generation - housed in a building no bigger than an
average-size room.

In Perth last month to try so drum up some business over here, Professor
Searl, 63, explained that raised environmental consciousness was pressuring
governments to take his idea more seriously because it was a cleaner,
cheaper method of providing power.

In essence, his invention, the Searl Effect Generator (SEG), consists of a
series of three plates wrapped inside three sets of rollers and set in
motion by the magnetic field. None of the parts touch, so there is no
friction. Instead the rollers float on the magnetic field, travelling round
the inner ring at 400kmh, increasing the speed 2.5 times in each of the two
outer rings.

This creates an enormous number of electrons. On either AC or DC current,
the SEG is claimed to pump one million electrons on to every square
centimetre. A layer of nylon ensures an even flow of electrons.

Its inventor says it will run for ever, the electricity generated will be
free and the unit will never need to be replaced.

Professor Searl started experimenting with the idea when he was 13 and he
had the SEG ready for commercial use by 1968.

But after 22 years of personal setbacks and total failure to get the idea
applied commercially, he was ready to give up. His obsession with the
invention led to a 10-month jail term in 1983 when he was charged with
stealing electricity from his local electricity board - he maintained he had
been powering his house from an SEG.

While he was in jail, his wife left him. "By 1990 I was ready to call it a
day," he said. "But then one or two people came to me and said I had to keep
going. Some people sent me money, an American said he would publish my book.
People started getting interested."

Since then he has been able to publish a number of books and he said there
was even the possibility of a movie being made about his life, with Sir
Anthony Hopkins portraying him. "Every country, it seems, wants to be
involved," he said. "Suddenly, everybody wants to get rid of their power
stations. "I kept warning them back in 1956 there would be a pollution
problem if we continued to increase our demand for power but they said
nature would cope."

Two people in WA have expressed interest in using the system for domestic
power needs but the first big breakthrough could come in Germany.

He said he was optimistic a power company there would replace a nuclear
power station with eight SEGs costing a total of ahout $4.5 million and
gencrating 240 megawatts. "They would have the equivalent of a nuclear power
station being generated in a room this size and with no pollution." said
Professor Searl in his hotel room. And the powcr would be free.

A householder could set up a 45 x 45cm unit and generate an output of II
kilowatts of free power, far more than the average person would use, he
said.

Then there was its potential use in cars. Professor Searl said the SEG could
replace diesel and petrol engines running on batteries. "With this, you get
in a car, turn a key and you are away," he bubbled. "There would be no need
to stop for fuel."

But it was the health gains that excited him the most. Houses powered by an
SEG had much greater healing properties, he said.

A 45-litre drum of burning oil exploded in his face a few years ago and
doctors told him he would be disfigured lbr life. But sitting in his
SEG-powered home for two weeks, he said his wounds healed.

He put it all down to the effect of the electrons "zapping" him, taking away
pain and bringing the blood back quicker to damaged areas of skin.

The SEG would also help combat asthma, bronchitis, hay fever and lung
complaints. You don't feel like you are breathing but drinking fresh spring
water," he said. "That's because you have more oxygen available."

Conventional methods of power did not pump out electrons and that resulted
in tired eyes and a tired brain.

The SEG's negative charge also meant dust stayed in the carpet instead of
floating in the air. Professor Searl, who used to teach at tertiary
institutions in England and Germany, now works for American company Direct
International Science consortium. where he is developing the SEG for
commercial use.

Cunderdin farm worker Steve Walker organised Professor Searl's visit to
Australia. While here, he gave lectures about his invention in Sydney,
Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth. About 80 attended the Perth lecture.

Mr Walker first found out about the SEG when he read one of the professor's
books last year and he has set up a group to promote the SEG in Australia.
