Subject: [dead_wood] Snag longevity in sub-boreal forests
I'm trying to locate any reports that explore stand and/or site
factors that influence snag longevity (how long trees remain upright
after succumbing to a mortality agent). Possible factors affecting
snag longevity include soil moisture, slope, aspect, climate, stand
age, tree diameter etc. I'm particularly interested in this subject as
it pertains to coniferous stands in the sub-boreal zone of BC.
Can anyone direct me to previous work in this area?
Thanks,
Frank
