Hello, We have a small group on the Willamette National Forests that has
just formed to look at created snag monitoring work. Does anyone have
information to share about the short- and long-term results of artificial
snag creation by various methods? We've been using inoculation,
sawtopping, blasting, high and low girdling, have done a minor amt of
cavity creation, and very limited pheromone baiting, of course there is
fire, too. Pacific Northwestern U.S. is our main focus, but I'm also
collecting information from other areas which might help us understand this
area further. I have a relatively short questionaire that I could send
you, which might facilitate your response. Thanks!
