The proceedings from the "Symposium on the Ecology and Management of Dead
Wood in Western Forests," held from 2-4 November 1999 in Reno, Nevada, is
progressing slowly toward publication. At this time, all of the
approximately 70 manuscripts submitted are now formatted. Roughly 1/3 rd of
these have had the format checking completed and are either in the hands of
the Pacific Southwest Research Station editor for final checking or on
their was back to the authors.

I hesitate to make any predictions of a completion date but will endeavor
to move the manuscripts forward as quickly as I can.

Thanks to all of you for your patience and support.

Bill
