Hello and Good Day!
I am looking for an internship working in either Australia or New
Zealand on a woody debris/forestry project. I am currently a
university student in Kelowna BC, Canada, majoring in Earth and
Environmental Sciences, and graduating this April 2003 with a
Bachelor's of Science-Co-op Degree. For the past two summers, I have
worked as a research assistant with a professor here at Okanagan
University College, on his project examining the effects of wildfires
and forest harvesting practices on large woody debris dynamics and
the implications for forest harvesting and management. This past
academic year, I have also been completing a directed studies course
related to this project.
Last summer, I was fortunate to recieve a student scholarship to
attend the International Union of Forestry Research Organizations
sponsored, "Mountain Forests: Conservation and Management" conference
in Vernon, BC and was exposed to many international forestry issues.
From this conference, I realized that I truly wanted to work overseas
to try and gain worldwide experience on forestry issues.
I will be travelling to Australia next year (2004) probably around
March or April, but I am flexible to change this date if required.
If you are looking for a research assistant on a woody
debris/forestry related project, or if you might know of someone that
may be interested in hiring an international student, please feel
free to email me at: tanyaseebacher@...
If you would like a copy of my resume, or if you have any questions,
please feel free to email me anytime.
Thank you very much for your time!
Sincerely,
Tanya Seebacher
