Coined in 1960s by Jacques Derrida, 'Deconstruction' is the philosophical movement and theory of literary criticism that questions traditional assumptions about certainty, identity, and truth. The focus of Deconstruction is the de-contextualisation of texts: To uncover what is left out, ignored, or silenced by the text.
