My name is Justin, I've had the pleasure of studying with Dave
Malloch and I am currently a student at the University of Hong Kong
with Kevin Hyde. My project will focus on the phylogenetic
relationships of the Hyponectriaceae.

I'm finishing up a side project regarding the phylogeny of two genera
Linocarpon and Neolinocarpon and whether the two genera are
congeneric. Currently I am having a bit of an argument regarding
which genes I should use. I have a partial sequence of the LSU
region and analysis has not supported any conclusion. I want to use
the LSU with the Beta-tubulin, Others suggest I use the ITS-5.8s
region with the LSU. I would appreciate any comments whether anyone
has combined the LSU data with Beta-tubulin data or whether they
suggest I stick with the rDNA region. Any helpful comments would be
appreciated.

Thanks,
Justin
