Hi Sue,

I just went through this with one of my degus. At first I thought it was a
stroke but it turned out to be an ear infection. She was doing the same thing,
turning in circles and tilting her head to one side, and falling over. She was
also scratching at the ear that was infected. My vet gave me an antibiotic to
give to her by mouth and also an ear drop to put in her ear. I had to do this
twice a day for 2 weeks. It was a bit of a pain but my goo recovered
completely.

I'd say take Lizzie to the vet. If it is an ear infection she can recover with
an antibiotic. Good luck!
