Hi Everyone,
We have a beta version of a new update to the Firefox extension
available for download and beta testing. This version features a
collection of bug fixes and a major change behind the scenes as we
moved to SQLite for storing your bookmarks locally instead of RDF.
What does this mean?
1. Extension should be much more stable and usable for users with
large accounts
2. After the initial conversion of your existing RDF file to SQLite
syncing will be faster and more reliable
3. Corruption experienced in previous versions of the extension with
RDF should be a thing of the past
There is a one-time database conversion that will happen when you
install this extension as it converts your existing RDF file to SQLite
if you have a previous version installed. Firefox will let you see the
progress of the conversion in the status bar at the bottom of the
window. Please do not close your browser while this conversion is
taking place, if you do close your browser before it is finished, a
full-sync of your bookmarks will be triggered. For most users this
process should be very quick, but if you have a large account it can
take some time.
This is a beta release so please share feedback or any bugs you might
come across. We have put it through the paces internally, I am using
it daily, and it is stable. However please keep in mind this is still
beta software, which is why we are asking for your feedback here.
