Hi,
Can you please let us know which version of Windows and IE are you
running. Currently hot keys don't work on IE8(protected mode).
Also can you please check in Tools->Manage Add-ons -> Enable or
Disable Add-ons that CDelHotkeys Object is enabled.

I just finished the installation. Unfortunately the hot-key for "Tag"
don't seem available. Is this even impemented? Ctrl-D just brings up
IE's favorites.
Anyway, my main question is why the "Tag" button is disabled. Nothing I
have tried has enabled it. Since neither hotkey nor button work...I
will have to uninstall unless someone helps my situation.
Note: I have both "Delicious Toolbar" and "del.icio.us Buttons"
installed.
Here you go, Nick:
IE: 7.0.5730.13CO
Macafee: VirusScan Enterprise 8.5.0i
Windows: XP Pro Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp2.qfe.070227-2300 :
Service Pack 2)

What version of IE, McAfee, and Windows are you running?
The McAfee issue is tied to some update of theirs over the weekend. We’re trying hard to track this down ASAP. As Amit said, we’ll also try installing the same version of McAfee to try and reproduce the issue in house.
Unfortunately the procedure that Nick followed did not work for me.
I have also experienced the additional issues to the original ones
listed below:
* After attempting to manually sync from the Preferences IE crashes.
* Pressing Ctrl-D to add a bookmark triggers a warning from Macafee
antivirus. The dialog does load, but the list of available tags does
not display. When I manually type a known tag, click OK, and check it
on my del.icio.us home page there are "extra" tags that are
associated with the bookmark that I did not add. (BTW, I am running
the FF add-in and get no such warning from Macafee or loss of
functionality when adding a bookmark).
The crashing I am experiencing has forced me to uninstall this
extension for the time-being, but I am anxiously awaiting the next
patch!

Hi,
I think you may have to add an exception in Macafee to allow
"deliciousmanager.exe" to access web and not to warn you about it
every time. I will try to get it tested with Macafee and other 3rd
party firewalls to ensure that is does not crash when access is not
allowed. FF XT does not have a seperate out of process component for
interacting with web hence it is not blocked.
Most probably adding the exception in Macafee , deleting "Delicious IE
Extension" folder and restarting IE should fix this.
Also can you please let me know what version of Macafee(Anti
Virus/Firewall) are you running. Thanks.

Amit

Ok, I uninstalled the extension and manually deleted the following

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Delicious IE Extension
Then reinstalled, which did the trick. Things are looking groovy now.

Hi,
Search for the folder "Delicious IE Extension" on c: drive and delete
it. This should clear all you setting. Relaunching IE should do a full
sync automatically.

Also, I have done the manual sync a few times and it does not seem to
help.
I still see tags that are not in my cloud, and posts that I have
edited through the extension get tagged with all kinds of random tags
after I sync...
I am running IE7/Vista SP1.

Installed this yesterday after importing a bunch of bookmarks into
Delicious.
List of issues:
1. Does not appear to sync properly - I am seeing tags that don't exist
on my account (they did at one point), I see posts tagged with
completely wrong tags, I see a bunch of "empty" posts in my list
2. Favorite tags is showing random posts that do not contain those tags
or should not (may be related to syncing)
3. Uninstalled extension, reinstalled and my preferences remained,
including favorite tags (shouldn't this be removed)?
How do I clear all my prefs/history off and start fresh?
Nick
I got a problem with the IE toolbar location. I like to have as much "real estate" as I possible for web content and therefore I organized my toolbars as follows:
Disabled the menu toolbar
Address toolbar at 1st row
Google toolbar on 2nd row (full row - to allow maximal number of keywords highlighting)
3rd and last is the IE Links toolbar + delicious toolbar attached to the rightmost position (on the same row).
The problem is that whenever I restart my IE, the delicious toolbar location is not saved and it takes a 4th row. Although being very small, it takes a full row and I have to move it back to its previous location (on the same row with the Links toolbar) in order to have only 3 toolbar rows. It is annoying and it takes one row from my browsing "real estate".
Does anyone know how do I make IE keep my toolbars arrangement unchanged?

Hi Neil,
Thanks a lot for letting us know. It seems there is a problem with the
delicious tool bar. Can you please verify whether disabling the
delicious toolbar from (tools -> manage add-ons -> enable or disable
add-ons) fixes this problem.
We will fix this in the next build. Thanks again for reporting this.
Regards,
Amit
I have not as yet read the posts here, but plan to do so. But,I
wanted to say that I installed this yesterday afternoon and ever
since I had issues with IE performance. I checked and could see
nothing else taking CPU cycles. And this was clearly obvious to me
(the problem I mean) as I have been downloading large files from a
site for the past two weeks with no issues and once I installed this
extension everythign went south. The download speeds were still go,
but IE's responsiveness was horrid. The moment I uninstalled the
delicious extension everything cleared up.
I really would LOVE this extension's capabilities, so not trying to
knock it, just wanted to point out my problem in case it helps.
I am running Windows Vista on a 4Gb RAM system, with a T7800 dual-
core. This is a 32-bit system. In addition, I don't do anything
else that is system draining (at least not on a constant basis). I
checked and no virus scan, or spyware scan was taking place. No
defragmentation was taking place. I checked Task Manager and Icould
see nothign draining the system except for IE. Also, the problem was
limited to IE - I was not experiencing teh problem in other desktop
apps. The problm itself was manifested by a slowness for IE to
respond to mouse-clicks and mouse rollovers. The program was
just "sluggish". And again, the moment I removed the delicious
extension it all cleared up. I tried just disabling the add-on from
within IE, but that did not appear to do anything.
And finally, I observed this behavior over many hours, not just a
short period.
I think that's all I have to report. I really woudl love for thsi to
work, so will be very interested in either whether you think there is
somethign I could do now that would make it work better, or if an
update is needed, then would like to be informed whenever it comes
out.
Thanks!

> 4. Tags have no inherent order, in which context

> dropping?
I was thinking more in the lines of what is already possible in the
web based administration. Dragging tags between categories (and have
categories shown in the tree) and disassociating tags from one
another. The first one is already fairly well implemented in the web
interface but the other is not. Consider this example:
I have a web page where I used the tag "cafe" and "espresso", and
another page tagged with "cafe" and "dining". Clicking on the
node "cafe" in the tree would give me "espresso" and "dining" as
leaves. I want to associate "espresso" with coffee instead of
cafés, so I create a node (a tag) called "coffee" and drag "espresso"
into that node. Personally I would prefer moving meaning "add the
target tag from the page and remove the originating tag", but I can
see it would be pretty much open to personal taste; becasue why not
add the pageto the target and "leave" the original.
Coming to think of it, it would be nice to be able to filter out
certain tags. Sometimes I use a sentence to tag a page, such as "what
a book". Although this is hardly an optimum tagging methodology, I am
sure that I am not the only one. The result is that I gettags such
as "a" or "data" or other useless words. If I could set up the tree
to exclude the most worthless of these, my tag tree would be far more
compact. Sorry, I got sidetracked here.

My problem is one of toolbar-congestion. I simply run out of space
and would really (really, really, really, etc.) love to be able to
select "none" and save some real estate. After all "space" does add
to the ease-of-use equation.

1. We'll get to this, it's already in the FF extension
2 and 3: Neither of these are easy in IE
4. Tags have no inherent order, in which context would you want them
reordered by dragging and dropping?
5. Clever idea, we'll investigate this
6. The toolbar has multiple modes, you can change it to show specific
tags or 'Most Visited' or 'Recently Bookmarked'
Thanks!

These are suggestions that are more or less what I think is lacking
feature wise.
1) Option to auto hide the panel, i.e. pull-out on mouse-over.
2) Option to dock the panel elsewhere.
3) Option to float the panel.
4) Drag'n drop reordering of tags - visual tag management if you will.
5) Tag web pages by dragging the URL into the tag tree.
6) Option to not show the recent-list (or whatever that is) from the
toolbar.
That is it for today :-). Otherwise a fine and eagerly awaited
initiative.

Excellent handling of this problem report even with the obnoxious way
it was submitted.
This is an wonderful add-on for IE. I have been hoping for it ever
since seeing it on FF. It breathes new life into IE.

Nice catch. We'll fix the selection behavior.
As for bulk edit, it's not something the API supports at this time,
but we are looking at a way to do this in the future.

After rebooting, I finally got it to install.
This is a pretty useful utility, but the first thing I tried (editing a
bookmarks properties) didn't work the way I would like.
After saving an edit to a bookmark, the selection in the bookmarks
window goes away and the list resets. This is very frustrating and
time consuming when editing many bookmarks. (but still a lot better
than the default del.icio.us website)
It would also be great to be able to select multiple bookmarks and
change things like whether or not to share.
Try checking your task manager and seeing if iexplore.exe is running.
If so, kill it. Also, you can try rebooting and launching the
installer before you open IE.

When I try to install, all it does is pop up a dialog that says "Please
close Internet Explorer"
IE IS NOT RUNNING!
How do you install this POS?
Vista Ultimate SP1, IE v7.0.6001.18000
Hi there,
I'm behind a proxy which doesn't allow me to download exe-files. Is it
possible to provide a zipped version of the extension?
Best regards,
Denny

Yes, gradually we will add all feature available in FF extension to
the IE version.

Amit (Y! Delicious XT Team)
Welcome to the group!
Here are the release notes for this version:
1. On Vista IE8 (protected mode) hotkeys are not working.
2. At times sync can stop midway for large number of bookmarks.
Use (delicious toolbar menu -> Preferences - > Sync) to re-sync your
bookmarks.
3. Tab key does not move focus across input fields in the
Create Account and Log-in dialog.
4. At times Keep/Remove dialog appears on IE tab other than the
one currently visible.
5. Extensive memory/resource leak testing has not been done yet.
6. On Vista if we launch IE in Administrator mode and then
launch another instance of IE in protected mode the protected mode
instance bookmarks are not populated. The reverse works fine.
7. Preferences -> Sign in as a different user doesn't force
sync. Press Sync from preferences dialog to force sync.
8. Some of the documentation where the extension points(on
server) is actually the documentation for FF extension, but most of
it is applicable to IE since the FF and IE extensions are quite
similar.
Since IE8 is still an early beta release, we expect to see some minor
issues here and there. Please report them to this group so that we
can compare to our big bug list and make sure we're aware of them
all. Thanks for testing!
