DMSG 2006 Schedule   Message List

OK guys and gals I've loaded the DMSG 2006 Schedule in the files
section of our Yahoo group. This is an Excel file. If you don't have
Excel go to the Microsoft web site and download an Excel Viewer.

Allow me to give you a little instruction so you'll get the most from
this file. It's already set in AutoFilter mode. You set AutoFilter by
clicking on Data, Filter and AutoFilter with the cursor in the first
row. If you want to take it off reverse the procedure.

Like I said AutoFilter is already set, now let me tell you how to use
it. If you were at the meeting and got a paper copy of this schedule
you'll notice this one is slightly different. I've changed it to work
better with the filter.

Click on the arrow in the month column, you'll see all the months of
the year listed. Hmmm, you'll see January listed twice, once spelled
wrong you'll want to fix this typo. Anyway you can select the Month
of May and all the events for May will be the only thing showing.

If you get kind of lost you can always go to Data, Filter and take
the filter off. The whole sheet will appear and you can now put the
filter back on and start over.

To reverse this just use the month drop down again and select All.
Now go to the Event field's drop down and select Moon, now go to the
next field Description and select First Quarter Moon, BANG you have
all the dates for the First Quarter Moon for the year.

I've tried to make sure the Event field is unique things that repeat
like Jupiter, Meteor Shower, DMSG Meetings and so on.

Some people wanted to know if other star parties were in the sheet,
no but you can add whatever you want once you down load the sheet.
Just remember like my month typo, you don't want things that are
related to be in different or they won't show up together. If you're
adding Star Parties, make sure the Event field is the same for all
occurrences.

While the Description field tends to be not as repeatable it is to
your advantage to try to keep it as consistent as possible.

I hope you all find this useful. Jerry
