Sr. C++ Developer

Project is C++ development on a telecom network management system.

This is C on unix or linux, not windows.



SUMMARY:

This position provides technology expertise as a member of the team that
designs, develops, tests, and maintains client's. internal corporate
applications. This position will include, but is not limited to, network
management and performance, Operations systems, applications and tool
development.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Lead and participate in the requirements definition phase of the software
development process by using prototyping and other rapid application
development techniques to help define system functionality

Lead and participate in RFI/RFP process for evaluating, testing, selecting,
implementation, and integration of software solutions in the areas of
network management.

Design, develop, and unit test software components & network related
systems.

Maintain and enhance existing systems as well as develop and implement new
systems.

Write and review design documents and functional specifications.

Test solutions in IOT & UAT environments.

Perform Tier III production support of existing systems.



SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:

Working knowledge of relational databases including both Oracle and MySQL.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Superior problem solving skills.

May be required to work overtime and minimal travel.

Required Experience



EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

BS/CS or equivalent experience, 5+ years in enterprise or service provider
experience, including NMS software or tools related to telecom and/or data
networking projects.

Strong working experience of software/tool development using C/C++ and java,
with Perl a plus. Experience preferable to include web service development
and integration.

Experience developing efficient multi-threaded and multi-process
applications in UNIX/Linux environments. Experience with UNIX/Linux
administration a plus.

Experience in IP/MPLS and Ethernet networking design and operations using
Juniper/JUNOS and Cisco/IOS strongly preferred.

Experience in design and development of Network Management System tools and
software a plus, including service activation, performance management,
discovery, inventory, fault, and related system integrations.

Experience in graphical user interface creation and development a plus.
