Annex to Dale's Atlantis Files group (dalesatlantisfiles) to house the special documents pertaining to the EndPleistocene cataclysm

The Pleistocene ended in a mass extinction event at the same time as "the greatest meteor shower known in history", the shower that left the Cape York meteorites [pictured] and most likely the Carolina "bays", perhaps even Meteor Crater itself. Otto Muck hypothesized that this event also caused the sinking of Atlantis along with a poleshift and orbital changes, and his maths check out.
As illustrated by maps in the group, the theory goes that an asteroid entered the atmosphere from the west going eastward over what is now the United States about 10,500 years ago. It broke up and showered down hundreds of fragments over the East coast which now form the Carolina Bays, but the largest chunks went on through to the bottom of the Atlantic, setting up mile-high tidal waves that washed over all continents adjoining and stirring up the magma bubble that was literally holding Atlantis above water. The Mid-Atlantic ridge opened up and dozens of volcanos on Atlantis exploded at once (their calderas are clearly visible on the sea floor today. Calderas form ABOVE water),sending billions of tons of atomized rock, water and carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The pole shifted and the earth's magnetic field began to invert. The Northern hemisphere was then in early summer, but the pole tilted into a winter position relative to the sun by several degrees. The water in the atmosphere rained down over the Northern hemisphere as a hundred inches of rain that turned into a blanket of snow a kilometer deep in places. the sudden influx of fresh water is noticeable in seafloor deposits, as are the layer of Meterorite dust and volcanic debris. it took thousands of years for the dust to settle. Millions of animals and people died, and many kinds became extinct. In Siberia and Alaska, mammoths and many other kinds of animals were killed and frozen in sit
