Dear Digital Photo SIG members,

For those who attended tonight's meeting. I forgot to mention two
things

Beyond Compare is a file comparison utility that I demonstrated
tonight. It was also shown at the general meeting earlier this year.
The software allows you to download and try it for free 30 days.
The days are counted as the actual days you use the product rather
than 30 days from the time you first install it on your machine. If
you decide to purchase it, there is a 20% user group discount
available to our group. In order to get the discount, enter "gcpcug"
at the time you purchase the registration code. This discount code
will be active for 6 months. Thanks to Scooter Software, the makers
of Beyond Compare.

Secondly, if you decide to purchase an external USB hard drive
enclosure, check around for pricing and a model that meets your
needs. The I/O Magic unit that I demonstrated looks good and is easy
to use but the fan is a little loud. You can also get it cheaper
online than the $60 price I indicated.

For those of you who couldn't attend, I've uploaded the Powerpoint
that I created for tonight:

.pdf

Sources for the software and archival CDs are shown. Special thanks
to Charolette Harris for doing the update on digital photography
trends and to Phillip Williams for doing so research on archival CDs.

Please join us next month to hear Mark Smith demonstrate how to take
pictures of objects for sale. Have you ever wanted to sell some
objects on Ebay but you couldn' t figure out how to get professional
looking pictures with you digital camera? Mark will show you how to
get get pictures using backgrounds available in the avarage home. We
hope to see you Thursdeay, April 21st, at 6:30 p.m. at the Maple
Heights Library.
