Thursday, October 20th Meeting with Attorney Hilary Taylor

We are fortunate this month to have attorney Hilary Taylor, a
partner with the law firm of Weston Hurd, leading a discussion about
legal issues and photography. He will talk about to protecting
photographs you've taken, model releases, and answer your questions.
(We've forwarded the questions to Hilary Taylor that were submitted
by those of you who replied to my earlier email. We welcome any
other questions that you'd like to ask at the meeting.)

Hilary Taylor is also an Adjunct Professor at Case Western Reserve
University School of Law. He is an avid photographer, a member of
American Society of Media Photographers, and serves as the Church
Photographer for the Mt. Zion Congregational Church.

The meeting will be held at the Maple Heights Branch of the Cuyahoga
County Library, our normal location.

I hope to see you there.

Digital-Photo Prices Hit a New Low

Wal-Mart Sets Cost of Prints
At 13 to 15 Cents per Shot;
Comparing the Options
By WILLIAM M. BULKELEY
Staff Reporter of THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

(See Corrections & Amplifications item below.)

In the latest round of price cutting in the digital-photo industry,
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is lowering the price of prints to 15 cents
each, and to 13 cents at its members-only Sam's Club stores.

The new 48-hour service, which applies to 4- by 6-inch copies,
represents a new low price for digital-photo prints. It began in
some locations last month and will be rolled out in every Wal-Mart
and Sam's Club store by the end of October. Customers are required
to bring their digital camera cards into the store and pick up their
prints two days later.
