BACK UP OR BE SORRY
Do you have a back up strategy for your images? How will you restore
your valuable data when (not if) your hard drive fails? I talked to
a photographer this year who lost 8 gigabytes of pictures when his
drive failed. Here are some tips from Maxtor as part of their
observance of National Backup Month in June:

I discussed backup last year at one of our meetings. Here is the
email I did after the meeting summarizing what we discussed. There
is also a link in the email for the Powerpoint presentation I did
with links to products for backup:

My favorite hard drive enclosure for creating a USB hard drive with
an internal hard drive is the CompUSA USB 2.0 3.5 inch External Hard
Drive Enclosure. I like this enclosure because it is cheap, durable
and doesn't require a screw driver to open. You can find a
description of it here: http://tinyurl.com/qg4zl
If you don't feel comfortable creating an external hard drive with
an enclosure and an internal drive, just buy an external hard drive
and use it to back up by plugging it into your USB port.
My favorite back up program is Acronis True Image. It is available
here: http://www.acronis.com/
Back up now. You'll be glad you did!
Enjoy the rest of the summer!
