Has anyone considered using DITA for
Policies and Procedures / Standard Operating Procedures? They are also a
collection of Concept (policies) Steps (Procedures) and Reference, including
choice tables, notes and all the rest. I have a possible contract for a large
engineering company in several locations, which probably have a few individual
procedures and lots of common ones.
While we’re in this area, I have long
thought that some sort of XML could be used to store and generate environmental
compliancy documentation, where each control instance, i.e. Air, Water,
Emergency, etc. wants the same information in different formats. This could
involve something like tables for information and standard ditamaps, stylesheets
and ants to generate the particular documents.
