Bruce Tate - stuck in a storm - not to worry we have another Bruce   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1584 of 2119 |
Notice: Bruce Tate will not be speaking this evening. Dallas is getting hammered by severe thunderstorms (see below).
We hope to reschedule Bruce Tate for next month's meeting.

David Geary will still present his "Ruby on Rails" talk at the 7:30pm meeting.

Not to disappoint, we've got a replacement Bruce.  Bruce Snyder and Jeff Genender, practice leaders from Virtuas Solutions will be presenting the following:

Implementing an Open Source Enterprise Service Bus Solution

An introspective of how a large utility company utilized open source to solve the problem of replacing hundreds of small, one-off applications with an enterprise class, distributed J2EE architecture. The completed implementation resulted in using 100% open source software to develop an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) that saved the organization a significant amount of investment in commercial software. The solution delivered a workflow based, extensible architecture utilizing best-in-class design concepts, J2EE components and open source implementations, such as Spring, Webservices/AXIS, Hibernate, JBoss, JBPM, EJB/MDB, JMS, and JMX/MBeans.

See you tonight,
-- Chris Huston
