Yes, on _your_ system. It works fine on my local machine too, but try
the same from a machine in the LAN.

Similar here. hostname.domain is returned correctly. But not when
resolving from another machine.

Dito. I tried "hostname FQDN" and "FQDN hostname", both did not help.
