Conrad Johnson PV-10 tube favorites

I have a CJ PV 10 AL which uses 12AU7(2) tubes.I took out the original
CJ tubes and tried JJ 12AU7 which didn't impress me.Anybody have one
and what are your favorite tubes for this preamp?
