We're ok. We moved out of that house under the motorway further into
Ealing, so we're in a semi in a relatively more residential street,
where we can still hear ourselves think when the window is open. :)
Peter developed epilepsy about 5 years ago - no one knows why - but the
medication is keeping it all controlled and he's still working at the
same place.
My kids left home, the cat died, and I am writing another LambdaMOO game
after all this time lol!

Hello!
LOL! I guess you could call my new iMac a baby (been very happy since
the switch over to a Mac!), but not the kind you were thinking of I
guess ;-) Decided to move out here as a transfer with UBS - am kept
busy providing managed services around middleware technologies - from
web infrastructure to application messaging and the like. The team
serves the IT streams within the bank - effectively as an 'internal'
hosting company.
Hope you and Peter are both well - what's new?
I wonder how everyone else is doing too.. where's bobo hiding these
days?

Neil I never imagined you would be a football fan! Nope we still don't
watch it, and I am possibly just a little embarrassed to confess I have
no idea who is playing today :(

This is to prevent Yahoo! from deleting the group.
Of course, another way would be for me to think of something actually
useful to say.
Oh! Yes, there is some news.
I'm moving: www.drealm.org.uk has become www.drealm.info -- I've put a
redirection on the front page of the old site but the rest of the site
is still there.
Anyway... As the new site doesn't have quite such ridiculously low
bandwidth, once I get organised, I'll probably move everything here
onto the new site.
Thantos!,
Erm never been here before, Was on the other form and
alt.bbs.drealmbbs and
alt.binarys.erot^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H

Tell the modem to autoanswer and ensure the getty you're running on
that serial port understands DCD or DSR and get the modem to assert
one of those when it's got carrier. The first bit is "ATS0=1" but I
forget the second bit (varies with modem). The BBS package does no
modem handling.
Thanks for the quick reply Peter.
How ever i have fixed the problem apparently it
happens if not all the directoryes are as they should
be as described in the setup file and its moste likely
because you end up passeing Empty variables witch any
c is not happy about.
How ever as soon as i found my littel type o fixed it
the assertion error went away. now im just trying to
find out how i get it to do a 'At' to pick up the
phone onece that is ringing.
But thats a different story
Cheers

Do You Yahoo!?
Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around

I've just realised (through opening the doc folder in the source and
reading the history.txt file) that yesterday was the 10 year
anniversary of the C source version of drealmBBS (beta 0.4) being
released.
Unfortunately, I've forgotten everything else that's happened in the
last 10 years... :-)

Did you apply the patch, dlm21b.diff to the drealmBBS-2.1a source?
Ok heres how it was so fare.
I was interrested in DrealmBBS because it seem to offer som of the
good old BBS functionalities "Still to be seen thoe" so i went into
the Readme file and started installing it after the text letter by
letter so to say, and all seem fine no more "sorry can't find the
Config.drealm"
Hurray i thourth my holy Grave is secure :) danish figure of speach.
Any way it ran a few lines and then "BANK" segmentation fault
after message "Please contact sysop to arrange access" hmm
i thourth back to the drawing board and look at the manual again
but that did not reveal anything that i did not allready do so im
kinda stuck right now
Can sombody give a hint or to ?
here som system information:
Suse 8.2 on a 1.2 GhZ machine with 256 MB of ram and enough Harddisk
to make any old BBS come to shame.
Cheers

Hehe! I will dig out a piccy - I haven't changed much, aside from
