The iSeries Developer's Roadmap is an architects' view of the road:
From RPG green screen development using SEU and PDM
To high transaction volume Web development using Enterprise
Java beans.
This roadmap discusses the steps involved in application
modernization. It even discusses some of the benefits of creating
modern applications.
It may create the impression that iSeries developers should abandon
RPG and move to Java - this just ain't so!
There is rarely any economic justification for rewriting a good RPG
application in Java.
However, there are many good reasons to Web-enable good RPG
applications.
In this presentation, we'll cover the basics of Enterprise
Transformation and discuss the business justifications for customers
and partners to modernize their application solutions.
