RFID is a hot topic across all industries - from compliance
requirements for Wal-Mart and The Department of Defense to
organizations looking to improve internal efficiencies.
This RFID presentation will include an overview of the initiative
with an education on the complexities, hardware requirements and
potential pitfalls (sight lines, barcode labels, smart labels,
forklift integration, slap and ship, etc.). In addition to discussing
the timelines and mandates currently imposed on trading partners, the
larger ROI for most organizations is with their internal deployment.
Discussed will be a number of practical applications where RFID can
benefit an organization and how companies have approached their pilot
projects. These applications would interface directly into existing
iSeries data and applications.
David Naigles current responsibilities include providing technical
expertise to current and potential LANSA customers, with primary
focus on software architecture and design. Prior to LANSA, David has
worked as Senior IT Architect for Alltel Information Services in
financial markets, CTO for a CPG Wholesale Distributor and owner of
his own software development/consulting firm. He has 25 years of
experience designing solutions for a variety of industries including
manufacturing, health care, financial services, and supply chain.
David is a graduate of Cornell University and Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute. He is a member of the Worldwide Society of Software
Architects and a mentor in the Technology and Telecommunications
Councils of Advisors.
