your
skill sets and abilities in iSeries Access in the latest V5R4
technology
environment. During this packed seminar we will be covering the very
timely topics of:

Get to the Web Fast with iSeries Access for Web

If you are looking for a extremely simply and highly functional way
for to
work with iSeries resources, then iSeries Access for Web is the best
option! Users simply start up their favorite browser and work with
iSeries
resources through easy-to-use GUIs. This session will describe how
users
can run host applications, work with the database, printers, the file
system. Network administration becomes a breeze as there is nothing
that
needs to be installed or configured on end user desktops. By the end
of
this session, you will see how users can:

- Run host applications (5250 emulation), upload and download
database
information, and use the iSeries as a file and print server
- Convert their spooled printer output to PDF and either print it or
email it
- Work with printers, jobs, run commands, send messages -- all
through
easy-to-use GUIs designed around the browser interface
- How an administrator can set up different views ('window') of the
iSeries for different groups of users.

You will also learn about the new features added to V5R4 of iSeries
Access
for Web.

iSeries Access for Web: Installation and Configuration

So you've heard that iSeries Access for Web is the new browser-based
addition to the iSeries Access Family, and it runs run entirely on
the
iSeries in a web application server. This session will
describe detailed information on how the product is delivered, what
pre-requisite products need to be running on your iSeries, and what
needs
to be done to get Access for Web configured and running in your
network. We
will also discuss how Access for Web can be used to connect to
multiple
back-end iSeries servers.

iSeries Access for Web: Control Access to Your Resources

Abstract: When you connect to your System i through iSeries Access
for Web,
you will be presented with a default home page that enables you to
work
with your server resources, such as 5250 applications, printers,
database,
file system, and more. However, as an administrator of your System
i, you
may not want many of your connecting users to have access to all of
these
functions. You can limit access by using the customization tools
provided
by Access for Web. Everything is controlled through i5/OS user
profiles, so
you can restrict functions based on single users or group profiles.
And you
can create a variety of front pages for your different types of
users.

Come to this session to learn:
- How to set policies to control what functions of iSeries Access
for Web
that connecting users can see and use.
- About 'user-level' preferences that may improve productivity for
connecting users.
- How to use the customize functions to create your own home pages.

iSeries Access for Web: Run 5250 in a Browser

Among the iSeries Access for Web capabilities is a 5250 interface
that
allows you to access your System i through your web browser of
choice. You
can completely control this function from your server, set up
preconfigured
sessions for your end users, bypass the second sign-on by using
macros at
start-up time, and have a help desk 'shared 5250 session with users
having
troubles at their desktop. Come and hear about the features
available in
this new 5250 web-based interface so that your company can get to
the web
with your existing applications.

iSeries Access for Web: Tips and Techniques

As iSeries Access for Web grows in popularity, administrators want
to roll
out these capabilities to more and more users on more and more
systems.
This session provides tips on how to incorporate iSeries Access for
Web
functions into normal mainstream processing, and provide added
capabilities
for end users. You will learn how to exploit its administrative
tools to:

- Enable users to combine their email with iSeries Access for Web
functions. With a single click, user can convert results of
transactions
into .PDF, .ZIP, or PC spreadsheet formats, and include these as an
attachment to their email.
- Set up network configurations and set up special security measures
- Work with Policy profiles and propagate these throughout the
network
