How to choose various Encodings?

Kural Tamil Software supports almost all known encodings like UNICODE, TSCII, TAM, TAB and LIPI. To select an encoding please click on "Kural Amaippu" and then choose the encoding you prefer.

Also you should select the right font for the encoding, in other words, if you choose TSC as your encoding then you should use any TSC fonts (like TSCKural) while typing in Tamil

How to choose various Keyboard layouts?

Kural Tamil Software supports English Phonetics, Tamil99, new and old Tamil typewriter keyboards. To select your keyboard layout, please click on "Kural Amaippu" and then chose the keyboard form "visaippalakai" section.

How can one install Tamil fonts in mobile, if at all possible? Could
someone help me with details/requirements to view unicode sites in
cellphone?

I have LG C2500 (with a proprietary WAP browser). The browser is able
to displayunicode letters, the only problem is they are all displayed
as square boxes as it does not contain appropriate Tamil fonts to
render Tamil text. Should I switch over to some other Nokia series?

In Windows XP, one is required to configure the system to handle Tamil
characters in Unicode format.
The system does not handle Tamil characters automatically although Latha
font is embedded.

How does the new OS Windows Vista deal with this issue?

Please look at www.sarma.co.in There you can convert any font to any
font from TISCII to unicode is very easily done. Download the free
converter at the site. Believe you can convert 104 Tamil fonts to
unicode and vice versa. Till this date it is FREE.
