Having problems with message search?
John, I had left off archiving for a long time, since Eudora is
such a solid program. But now that I have a database need, I
downloaded your latest Beta of Version 4.10. Overall performance
is much improved. it took me a minute to find where to click to
get to the archiving screen (probably I bypassed some new task
menu)
There is an irksome problem with behavior of beta 5 when
archiving from Eudora. On archive of each message, Eudora
launches and then closes. This keeps happening and I suspect it
degrades performance. I can continue to work by hiding both
Eudora and the Archiver. The problem is apparent when
running the beta as a solution or under Filemaker 8.03 Advanced.
Specifically the order of events seems to be Message is archived,
Eudora quits unexpectedly causing a dialogue to appear asking whether
to reopen. Eudora relaunches without necessity of any action and
tries to check mail, another message is archived, Eudora "quits
unexpectedly", Eudora re-launches and tries to check mail,
another message is archived, Eudora quits "unexpectedly,"
etc, etc. etc.

This beta version was created with FileMaker 8.5, which creates a Universal application that also runs natively on Intel Macs, although I used FileMaker 8.0v3 for most of the development work, until recently.
