I made the switch to Mail to Filemaker Importer. Very lightweight application (applescript, I think) that dumps to a FMPro DB. Support is very good too: I had problems early on during import as my accounts are IMAP ones. The company pres. (it's a small shop, I believe) stepped in and had a solution for me within several days. Very good experience!

Sorry to have to say this having been a long-time user or eMA, but I would suggest looking 
for another solution for your mail backup. eMA has significant problems with Leopard, hasn't 
been updated in almost a year, and John (the developer) hasn't posted here in almost that 
long (last post May of 2007). So it's apparent that if eMA hasn't been abandoned the 
development is so glacial as to make eMA an impractical solution. You might take a look at 
Entourage Email Archive X:


It's gotten good reviews and is kept very current.
