WhatTheHeck.com/ebay/ catalogues a lot of strange eBay auctions. Like,
a
bobsled team, 24 kids, and Lando Calrissian. You'll see when you check
the site out :)
"Pop Wheels"... not so much weird but indicative
of the fact that you can find ANYTHING on e-bay.
About a year ago my brother asked me if I remembered an
ad for rollar skate shoes back in the late 70's. I
said yes, they were called "Pop Wheels" and I started
singing the jingle... The were shoes (sandals) with
really thick soles in which, if you pressed a button on
the side, wheels would pop out of the bottom of them
and you could theb rollar skate. Obviously they had a
very very limited appeal and only during the brief
disco rollar skating era. Anyway...long story short, I
found a pair of these beauties on e-bay. Someone else
must have remember them as well, because I paid more
then I should have for them. Sorry, no picture. :-(
I got a 1970 something pachinko machine recently.
What is pachinko, you might find yourself asking?
Pachinko is a sort of casino machine from Japan. It's like
an upright pinball machine - you pull a lever down
and some little steel balls come plinky-plink down
behind the glass. If they go into certain areas on the
game, then they come out a slot at the bottom, and you
can use them to purchase prizes with, a la skee-ball.
It lights up, makes noises, and it's wacky! See it

I read this article on MSNBC about the bid
shielding scam on eBay and wonder if maybe eBay should just
say that under NO CIRCUMSTANCES can
you withdrawl
your bid once you bid. That way no one will get
scammed.

Seems to make more sense than allowing a scam to
continue....

Just a thought.

Here's the article if you'd

I keep finding all these cool chairs, clocks and lamps from the Eames era on
eBay. You should do a search on Eames and see all the cool, mod stuff for sale!
I'll always remember the first time I used my
Last Supper plates.

I found an item and am
ready for my first bid. Anyone have tips or warnings
beyond what's in the e-Bay help junk? I'm afraid to
start, because I doubt I'll be able to stop.

For a week my life stood still as I got into a
bid war over a "Walking rug"...it bordered on
obsession....ended up paying 60 bucks for something I didn't have
when I was little...

Now I don't leave for Mos
Eisley without him!
Nice inside joke for those of us who already know each other. This is a devil
doll I got a year ago on eBay. He's posable and so spooky! He sits on my desk at
work here at the @Home Network!
If you like collecting bizarre stuff or just want
to see what kinds of weird things are for sale on
eBay then feel free to post messages here!

Also
