Ecco has a pretty cool feature (Edit > Insert Object > Create From File) which
allows inserting pretty much *any* size file into ecco (and does use up much
pointer memory) as an item.
Works *very* well with word, excel, txt, and other kinds of files.
So,
the following bit isn't necessarily *necessary*, but is sure is cool!:
take a look at
http://forums.eccoMAGIC.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1218986971/19#19
showing example of EccoMV internalized zip file.
Unlike Ecco's native insert object, size of file has been limited to max of
6Megs per item. *but*,
can attach directories, word, zip, etc., files as live items. (and can AES
encrypt the file inside ecco.)
so for example, encrypted zip file (XP and above) is active within ecco. can
double click, drag & drop [in and out, ie., add or extract], delete, etc.
Only ecco users with password can access or even know what the internal
attachment is.
not sure what actual use it is, but it sure is cool. Very likely we are on
verge of new era, have high hopes for Vizz' efforts, even if lot of work
ahead. Eventual possibilities are mind boggling.
For now, at least, here is something kind of cool, something never imagined
ecco could do (although not sure that really need it to do this!).
